Been learning about genes- question about eye colour?

At school ive been learning about genes and the dominant/ recessive alleles that decide a certain characteristic for example eye colour, Brown is dominant and blue is recessive but my eye colour is half blue and half brown in both eyes- brown near the pupil and blue on the outside, I thought that brown would come out on top, is my eye colour strange and what caused it to be like it or am i just being stupid
