When will this fighting of religion end?

I've never fought, persecuted or raised my hand with anyone on the basis of their beliefs, only had discussions. Boring as it may sound, discussion is the best way to improve the world, rather than pretending differences don't exist or don't matter. And one of the things I'm duty-bound to point out is how many religious texts plee for the opposite to happen: and for people to be fought, killed and judged on the basis of their beliefs, which I think is mean.
