Why do Americas ignore research for political elections?

We Ameicans have elected Bush-Clinton-Bush to rule our land for the past 20 years, why? We are at the precipice of electing another Clinton. Is there something magic in these people or is it all about the money backing them? Is it because she is a woman? What research have you Answers people done during this election campaign and have you shared and interacted with friends and family? I had posed this question earlier and one of our esteemed Answers colleagues took exception to my saying we Americans stink when it comes to our politics! Boo-hoo!
