Why is the answer for this cross 50% instead of 25%?

Pepper color is a trait that is controlled by several genes. The Y allele generates red peppers while the recessive y allele generates yellow peppers (yy). If a pepper plant that is heterozygous for these alleles (Yy) is mated by a genetically similar plant (Yy), what percentage of the progeny will be yellow?
