Is there a browser game similar to Travian but not so warlike or negative?

I've played Travian twice now and am getting bored of it. Its too warlike and everyday just seems like more of the same with very little scope for any co-operation. There war scenarios are boring and formulaic and alliances are very limited as to what they can actually do. Is there something similar but with less emphasis on war and maybe more emphasis on trade or exploration, or whatever? I'm easy.
