Is it possible to sue a former employer for improper training leading to a back problem for me?

I didn't start having back pain til about 4 months after starting this job. I was an in-home caregiver, doing personal cares/transfering, cleaning etc. The only training I had was reading a little booklet about bathing and safety, but never in-person training.
